Our Commander

1st Lieutenant Michael Roof has been a member of the Civil Air Patrol since March of 2020. Originally intending to join to share his I.T. and cyber security skills to the Unit, he's fulfilled with mentoring cadets into the leaders of tomorrow, providing fun STEM activities, and participating in Emergency Service training exercises. On March 17th, 2022, he accepted command of the Tri-City Composite Squadron, with the goals of growing the Unit and C.A.P. presence in the Tri-City area and support our local communities. He has completed Level 2 and Level 3 of senior member professional development program.

1st Lt. Roof graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2018 with a bachelors degree in Computer Science. He's led a Google grant-funded extracurricular STEM program middle and high school students in the Saginaw area in 2017 and 2018, with tremendous success in exposing youths to the variety of focuses in the Computer Science field. Professionally, he is a Cyber Security Analyst for a local insurance company since 2017.

 

Chaplain

Lt. Col Lang Yang has been a member in the Civil Air Patrol since October of 2010. He has an extensive record of involvement in Emergency Services, serving the Chaplain Corp., and holding several officer positions. Most notably he serves as the Chaplain of the Great Lakes Region and Group 701.

 

Maj Doug Haskins has been a member in the Civil Air Patrol since July of 2009.

 

Major Mary Moylan

Maj. Moylan, CFI, and Air Force veteran, joined the Civil Air Patrol in September of 2009 with the Owosso Squadron.  A pilot since 2005, her main goal was to fly the airplanes and she found the Emergency Services arm of CAP a perfect fit.  She soon qualified in the Mission Scanner and Observer positions, and in 2017 became the only female Mission Pilot in Michigan which she held for four years.  In her busiest years with CAP, she was Mission Pilot, Instructor Pilot, and flew many O-flights with cadets. 

 

Lt Col. Bradley Stricker has been a member of the Civil Air Patrol since July of 2001
